Missy Allard, Editor/Motion Graphics Designer

Missy is one of Award Productions’ magicians. Well, that’s how it seems at least when she’s done editing a project. She started editing as a hobby, and was ecstatic when she learned that you could actually turn your hobby into a career. A proud Emerson grad, she is continuing to hone her magician’s skills at Harvard Extension School. She loves Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and her favorite wedding gift was a cross-bow.

“While working for DIY Network, I once edited a series called “Inside Power Tools” where we literally cut open a bunch of DeWalt and Craftsman power tools and filmed the inner workings in extreme slo-mo to show how they worked. I got to travel to the headquarters where these tools are manufactured to look at how they’re designed and made. I cut it to some really fun and intense dubstep music, and built motion-tracked 3D CAD blue-print style graphics on top of the footage. The best part was always the final hero shot of each video, which usually involved something like a demolition hammer or chainsaw just destroying something in slow motion.” - Missy
